Streaming
Real-Time Video for the Nestcam is provided by WebView
Livescope Viewer for Java Ver. 3.6.
The Viewer for Java is automatically downloaded from the
camera server to your machine if necessary when you go
to the Streaming Nestcam page. However, depending on the type of Web browser
you are using and your current software configuration, you may be
required to install a Java VM and/or change your Web browser settings
to enable the streaming videos to be viewed. First time
downloads of the Java viewer to your machine may take a
short while.
Be patient--it's worth the wait, and it only has to be
done once.Note that the camera server sends streaming
video in real-time. Users with slow internet connections
such as dial-up may observe skipped frames, or may be
unable to view video in real-time at all. These
users should use the Stationary
Cam which updates every 10 seconds.
The setting for the Web browser varies depending on the
version used. Refer to the settings given here and check
your browser version.
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer has a setting that
specifies whether the use of Java is permitted.
From the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options"
and click the "Advanced" tab. Then set "JIT
compiler for virtual machine enabled" as the
"Microsoft VM" setting.
In Windows XP, Java VM may not be installed. If
this is the case, please install the version of
"J2SE v 1.4.2_08 JRE" from
here.Internet Explorer running under
Windows XP Service Pack 2 might not automatically
download the viewer, because SP2 will usually ask
for permission before downloading any type of
file from the internet. You may need to click the
information bar at the top of IE to okay the
download.

Netscape
| Netscape also has a setting that specifies
whether the use of Java is permitted. Select
"Preferences" from the "Edit" menu, click
"Advanced" and then click in the "Enable Java"
checkbox. |
