The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park was pleased to host its Tenth Annual Nature
Photo Contest. Cash Prizes were awarded in three categories: birds, reptiles, and general wildlife,
with a $500.00 cash prize for best of show. The contest was open to both amateur and professional
photographers. Entries were received from all over the United States. The judge for
this year's contest was Arthur Morris, Birds as Art. He is an accomplished award-winning photographer.
With one of the most extraordinary wild bird rookeries in the state of Florida, the St. Augustine
Alligator Farm Zoological Park attracts nature photographers from all over the country. Photos taken
in the park are not only entered in the Alligator Farm Photo contest, but images have appeared
nationally in magazines, newspapers, greeting cards and on various web sites. There were over three hundred
photographs entered in this year's contest, making the judge's decision a difficult one. Winning
photographs will be on display in the Gomek Pavilion at the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, FL
during the month of September.
